I had two babysitters growing up, and I hated both of them. Buttons was the name of the first babysitter. She would force me to eat oatmeal or starve. As I’ve mentioned before, I was a picky eater and oatmeal was not on my list of french fries and cheese quesadillas. Plus, she would always enforce naptime. When we suddenly moved to a new town, I was ecstatic to be as far away from Buttons as possible. My new babysitter was strict and quiet. Although oatmeal wasn’t an issue anymore, I was still expected to nap. The only thing I remember liking about her was that she would make macaroni and cheese several times a week. Which soon became my third approved food item.
Anyone can put together a box of Mac N Cheese. All you need is a pot of bowling water, butter and milk. Timing is everything with good Mac N Cheese. From pot to bowl, it has to stay hot. So make sure to pour yourself a glass of WINE while the water is still boiling! For a melt in your mouth food like Mac N Cheese I like a rich, buttery Chardonnay without oak. The wine and food are both creamy and lush creating the ultimate mirroring experience. White Burgundy, Merlot, Pinot Grigio and Pinot Noir also work well with this traditional cheddar cheese pasta.
